The "Heartbeat" singer, who's married to McEntire's stepson Brandon Blackstock, had only the nicest things to say about the country icon, one of seven stars chosen for the 50th Anniversary Milestone Award at Sunday's show.
"Our next Milestone recipient and performer is the ACMs top-winning female vocalist, with a total of seven awards," Clarkson began. "During her amazing career, she has won a total of 13 ACM Awards. Plus, she put this show on the map by hosting 14 times."
She continued: "I never could have imagined when I was at the ACMs nine years ago, and I yelled backstage to Reba, 'I want to be you when I grow up,' that one day, we would not only become friends...but in the most crazy twist of fate, she would become my family."
